Ami hails from Cleveland, Ohio.  Though she traveled with her family to Florida often as a child, she was convinced that she loved to travel during her trip to France during her senior year of high school. 

Ami has been travel hacking since 2019.  In November 2023, she realized that she had scored over $65,000 worth of travel for only a few thousand dollars in the previous twelve months.  Upon sharing this with her friends and family, she found that most of them thought travel hacking sounded great, but that they were intimidated by the amount of time they believed they would need to spend to learn the strategy.  The idea for The Travel Cheat was born.
